MACA is pleased to announce two featured speakers at our 2010 Annual Training Conference from May 10-14 at the Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis:

 

John MillerJohn Miller is the Associated Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Analytic Transformation and Technology, and a former FBI Deputy Director, LAPD Bureau Chief, and NYPD Deputy Commissioner. He is the author of The Cell: Inside the 9/11 Plot and Why the FBI and CIA Failed to Stop It and the only American journalist ever to interview Osama bin Laden. See his WikiPedia page.

 

Joan McNamara is the LAPD Assistant Commanding Officer of the Counter-Terrorism and Criminal Intelligence Bureau. As such, she has a key responsibility for implementing predictive analysis at the LAPD.

IACA Certification

 

Join our effort to get as many New England-area Certified Law Enforcement Analysts (CLEAs) as possible. The IACA will be offering the certification test at the 2010 MACA conference in May.

Once you've secured funding and permission to attend the 2010 MACA conference, cast your sights to the 2010 IACA Annual Training Conference. For IACA's landmark 20th conference, they will be joining the Center for Problem-Oriented Policing in Arlington, Texas, from September 27-30, 2010. This joint conference will feature more than 50 training classes in crime analysis and problem-oriented policing; this is a conference for analysts to attend with their officers and chiefs.
