The first principle of the Crime Analyst's Round Table is that
all members of this profession who choose to participate, including
those in related fields such as GIS, criminal intelligence analysis,
and the academic study of crime, are welcome as equals.
The primary vehicle of the Crime Analyst's Round Table is the
forum: an open discussion on a topic launched by an
initial article, followed by responses linked to the initial article
and by a less formal discussion board. Thus the reader should be able
to trace an on-line conversation among analysts and then join-in
the discussion in either of two ways.
- Prepared response one or a few paragraphs
written with reasonable care in response to points raised in the forum
article, or in another response, or adding thoughts on the subject
not treated previously; also may include rejoinder(s) by the
original author;
- Discussion group format brief comments
submitted to a discussion board.
Round Table Editorial Policies
The acronym "RSVP" will be found at various locations throughout
the site, inviting readers to respond in either the prepared response
or the discussion group format, or to submit an original forum
article, beginning with a click on the RSVP link, which in most
cases will result in an email addressed to the Round Table editor.
